This 2018 Barolo Castiglione from Vietti is a compelling charmer: floral notes of rose petals and violets blend harmoniously with sour cherries, bright red berries, rose hips and plums. An intense scent of incense, tar and liquorice permeates the air and radiates consuming passion
The acidity shows clearly and gives it an aristocratic coolness and freshness. At the same time, the tannins are ripe and perfectly match the sweet fruit. A decidedly subtle wine that gives the impression of floating.

"Fast-paced and concentrated. I like the aromas of lavender, violets and white roses alongside strawberry, cranberry and stone. Medium-bodied, with firm and fine tannins that are long and juicy. It is fine and polished. Needs three to four years to develop."
