A story of the legendary founders of Ancient Rome, Romulus and Remus. Legend presents Romulus as the stronger, more powerful of the brothers, while Remus was more refined, focussed and elegant. We believe the twins’ characterise the distinctive and unique flavours and attributes of Shiraz from the twin valleys – the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley.
Tasting notes:
Deep garnet in colour with an exotic bouquet of red-cherry, lavender, spring herbs and flickerings of Cajun pepper. The palate is equally enticing displaying concentration and richness, then finishing with poise and precision. The 2019 vintage was an outstanding vintage for old vine Eden Valley Shiraz, this wine will age gracefully for many years to come.
Reviews:
Best in Show & 97 points, Decanter World Wine Awards 2022 “… give this wine a sniff and you’ll find perfumed blackcurrant fruits impeccably defined, their breadth sweetened with a little oak on the palate, it is intense, deep and salty-savoury but clearly a tenor in range, surging through the palate on a surf of pristine fruits. The natural balance is impressive, as are the ultra-soft tannins which seem to melt into the fruits, combining the wine’s saline crushed-stone richness to convey some of the profundity of terroir possible here.”

95 points, James Suckling “Lots of old-vine character with bark, dark mushroom and moss to the blackberry and plum aromas and flavors. Some black truffles, too. Full-bodied, but not overpowering, with creamy tannins and lots of intensity at the finish. Always in reserve at the end. So drinkable, but it will age fabulously.”
