THE NAME – “Michael “Jacko” James worked in our cellars until he succumbed to a long battle with leukaemia at the age of 26. His legendary character and courage left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Our tribute to him is this full-bodied Shiraz which displays rich peppery fruit over a firm underlying structure with great length.” – Geoff Merrill
Tasting notes:
Fresh herbs, perfume and gamey notes. Black pepper, red berries and black cherry notes lift with time in the glass. The palate begins with round, fruity and savoury characters, then moves towards a zesty and vibrant wild raspberry and cranberry finish. A very complex wine with cool season characters that will grow and develop into a stunning mature Shiraz.

93 Points & 5 Stars, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"It's splendidly fruited and inviting on the nose with dark berry, smoked game, hazelnut and clove aromas with a hint of cocoa complexity. The palate delivers excellent weight and supple mouthfeel, beautifully supported by layers of polished tannins, finishing delectable and lingering. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2023
