Bright in the glass with wild fruits, blackberries and white pepper. These slightly wilder flavours are very specific to Gaiole in Chianti, particularly this corner of the sub-zone near the village after which it was named. This cool location produces a sharp and elegant Sangiovese with tension and crispness, savoury tannins, the return of small black fruits and a respectable finish. Riecine is known for its cult of perfectionism, which has been passed down through a succession of owners. This characteristic comes to the fore in difficult vintages such as 2023, when continuous rain in May and June led to widespread problems and August brought days of sweltering heat. Riecine responded with an elegant wine. Impeccable."
