Tasting notes:
It shows a rare restraint in the use of oak. It's all about the dark rich fruit, and with fruit this beautiful, by Jove, it should be! Lots of baked earth and spice flavours too.
Reviews:
93 Points - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)
"Juicy, purple, ripe raspberry, brown spices. Gummy feel, saucy and spicy, tannin has some grit, and finish is jubey and fairly long. Feels a little different from the usual offerings from Head, in terms of Grenache, though that's perhaps a function of the vintage."
92 points - Stuart Knox - The Real Review
"Medium to deep ruby-red core with a bright purple-tinged rim. Plums, wood oil and mountain herb aromas. Medium in weight but packing a lot of intensity. Dark fruits, wakame and bresaola savoury tones. The tannins have some grip, but they drive it to a long drying finish. A serious example of the variety."
