Tasting notes:
Ruby red colour with mineral and vanilla notes. Medium-bodied, dry wine with a crisp acidity (perfect for the whole meal) and soft tannins. This Barbera is very well balanced, with a good complexity and a red cherry finish.

Vietti continues to achieve year in and year out. The 2020 “Tre Vigne” Barbera continues that streak with a wine that begins with all bass notes. Deep and dark aromas of black cherry, roasted plums, candied violets and sweet spices. The wine is juicy and lush on the palate with gobs of blackberries and a touch of dried lavender and savory spice. The wine finishes with a brightness needed to keep the wine fresh.

"The 2020 Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne is packed with dark cherry, plum, smoke, mocha, licorice and chocolate. This deep, voluptuous Barbera is an absolute joy to taste. The style is decidedly extroverted in feel, but it all works. Time in the glass brings out the savory, mineral character of Asti. What a wine! Drink: 2022-2027. (Dec 2022)"

The 2020 Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne uses a portion of fruit from the ancient La Crena vineyard with vines planted in 1932. The rest of the fruit comes from the Agliano area of Asti (in the Nizza wine growing area). This is a ripe expression with dried prune and sweet raisin. The heat of the vintage is transmitted through the baked and sweet-smelling aromas present here. It shows a high 15% alcohol content and a rich, velvety texture. Production is 35,000 bottles.
